ANNA VIRKKUNEN

ANNA VIRKKUNEN is a Finnish dance artist, performer and a collaborator. Since her graduation from SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in 2015, she has been engaged in different ensembles and productions internationally. Her latest collaboration was with Helsinki Dance Company where she performed in the newest work of Annamari Keskinen ja Ryan Mason. Anna has also performed and toured in the works of Doris Uhlich, Milla Koistinen and Sebastian Zuber.

 

Anna has been teaching dance for many years in various platforms. Among others she has shared her practice in the profitraining Basel and Helsinki and taught dance in several institutions for different levels and groups. In 2021 Anna graduated as a yoga teacher and has been teaching yoga since then. 

In 2020 Anna started working in the anti-racist and feminist art community UrbanApa in Helsinki where she was facilitating a mentoring group for young artists. Additionally to dance degree and holds a Bachelor of the Arts, Finnish literature as her major.
